Mission
Help young Salvadoran women complete their Bachelor's Degree by providing a full scholarship that includes the guidance and counseling necessary to succeed in their education.
Guiding Philosophy
We believe that education is the single, most-important component of personal and economic development because it is both enabling and sustainable. By providing full scholarships and the support services necessary to help young Salvadoran women complete their degree, Asociación Universitaria (University Association of El Salvador) seeks to contribute to the economic development of El Salvador by striking at the heart of the significant challenges facing Salvadoran women with limited resources.
Goal
A young woman with a Bachelor's Degree in El Salvador goes from being confined to home, episodic manual labor, and/or a minimum wage job that pays $150 dollars a month (with no prospect of advancement) to being competitive for professional level jobs that pay $400 to $800 a month. The goal of Asociación Universitaria is to give program participants the means to live independent lives where they are empowered to contribute to the betterment of their families and the development of their communities and nation.
